About I Have The Experience I have had diverse careers in computers and visual design - most recently, I have been a a professional Website / Graphic Designer for 12 years. More Than A Designer Beyond being a visual designer, I relentlessly pursue that rare beast known as the "Positive User Experience" (UX). My intense Customer Focus is essential to a great return on investment (ROI) for your company's mobile or web projects. The computer has always been my favorite medium for Visual Design. I wrote my first computer program/ application in Basic, back in 1983, so I could draw on my computer using only its keyboard, as computer mice were not common then. Beyond the use of digital media, I have done some professional, traditional media artwork. I favored oil paint and brush, but did some airbrush work as well. Additionally, I have done some prize winning, digital, physical effects, and costume work. If I Had To Choose One Specialty My biggest passion has been doing the conceptualizing, design and production of photo realistic still images for campaigns and promotional pieces for small or big screens, and for print. My skills are essential to the success of any project which requires custom image work*. My range of work has included simple through complex image enhancements, and even the creation of entire photo realistic images. My talents will transform ho-hum marketing campaigns in print, web, mobile, or video projects into huge successes. This invaluable skill creates cost savings over impractical or costly photo shoots. Sometimes I create images to allow the pre-visualization of products which don't yet exist. Or perhaps you have existing images, but the "models" aren't making the impact you need. I'm capable of making any person's face look more attractive, using techniques far beyond traditional Photoshop touch-ups. This can of course can be invaluable for a huge number of applications. For five of those years I was with Shaw Communications, and I'm proud to say my design team was awarded a cross-Canada Top 10 Ranking by Design Edge magazine. Previously, I was a Computer Applications Instructor, teaching both graphic and office software applications to adults in a classroom settings. Also, I'm a surviving, six year, veteran of being a successful entrepreneur - which speaks to my ability to succeed even during challenging circumstances.
